Before the strange cucumber creature appeared in their kitchen, the Hogelmanns were an ordinary family. The cucumber creature, claiming to be the King of the Kumi-Ori in the pantry, said it had fled there due to the rebellious and treacherous people who had risen against it. It demanded to be addressed as "Your Majesty." Soon, it managed to exert control over Mr. Hogelmann and began secretly watching the family members and spinning outrageous lies.
